Welcome to the beautiful ‘Pays d’Auge’!  This stunning area in the heart of Normandy, with its characteristic rolling hills, pretty valleys and dramatic castles, is ideally suited for school French trips based around French Language, History, Food and Culture….with a musical twist!

The history of Normandy can be felt all around, with highly interactive museums bringing learning to life.  Market mornings, chocolate museums and cheese factories can all be explored for language, food and cultural development.  We are blessed with a huge range of fun options for letting off steam, with exciting activity centres and theme parks within easy reach.

Based in the town of Pont L’Eveque, right at the heart of the Pays d’Auge, we will personally look after your group during your stay, and be on-hand 24/7 to ensure that everyone has a happy time.

Medieval History – The famous Bayeux Tapestry Museum and the Château Guillaume Le Conquerant (William the Conqueror’s castle in Falaise) reveal the dramatic history of Normandy. Mont Saint Michel is a magical experience nearby.

Modern History – The D-Day Landing Beaches can be experienced via the circular cinema Arromanches 360 and the beach below, which still contains the remnants of the artificial harbour from WW2.

Prehistory – Exploring ‘Jurassic Normandy’, the Paléospace l’Odyssée at Villers-sur-Mer organise fascinating dinosaur and fossil workshops, followed by a beach visit where the children can hunt for fossils.

Cheese – The Pays d’Auge is renowned for its four cheeses – Neufchâtel, Pont l’Evêque, Livarot, and Camembert.  At the Village Fromager in Livarot, children can learn about the art of cheese-making with tastings at the end.

Chocolate – The Drakkar Chocolate Museum in Bayeux organise tours for children to learn about these famous regional delicacies.

Market Morning – A linguistic activity whereby the children visit one of the busy markets in teams to purchase a list of produce directly from the market stalls, which is then used for their dinner at the accommodation.

The viking-themed amusement park Festyland is always a hit with school groups, with a lovely range of rides suitable for all levels of confidence.

The stunning Suisse Normande (the area of Normandy reminiscent of the Swiss Alps) is home to the Ouilly Loisirs activity centre, proposing aerial trekking, kayaking, geo-caching and archery.

Not forgetting Normandy’s one-and-only children’s bobsleigh circuit Clecy Gliss!

We have close relationships with several of the schools in our area and can integrate a half-day school visit into your itinerary.

Your children can spend time in-class with French children of the same school year-group to engage with linguistic activities, and in advance of the tour we can arrange a video link-up as a fun way to prepare the visit.

All the children can then enjoy a traditional French school canteen four-course lunch together (starter/main/cheese/dessert)!

An entirely optional (but potentially very exciting!), part of the tour could be a musical element organised through our musical connections.

This might be a tour of a music conservatoire with a short performance given by the conservatoire’s senior students, or attending a concert given by one of the visiting UK school orchestras or choirs at one of the region’s heritage sites.

We could alternatively organise a collaborative singing project, bringing your school alongside a local school to meet, rehearse, and perform some songs together, which have been prepared in advance by both schools.

We work with a range of fabulous accommodation centres, and with over 350 beds available we can welcome groups of all shapes and sizes.  Our centres are ideally equipped for children and youth groups, with sports facilities and extensive grounds for quality down-time, and complete security regarding dietary requirements and safeguarding.

Domaine de Soignolles is perfect for smaller groups, a popular wedding venue with beautiful grounds and facilities for children.

Orangerie Bourg-Saint-Leonard is a large centre built within the grounds of an 18th century chateau which can be visited during your stay.

Maison Saint Georges can accommodate very large groups, and is based within school grounds in the pretty countryside town of Orbec.

“Musique Anglo-Normande were fantastic. The itinerary put together worked perfectly. Similarly the activities were all lots of fun and the accommodation worked perfectly. Having Chris around most of the time meant that everything ran incredibly smoothly. I could not name a single negative about Musique Anglo-Normande and would highly recommend them.”
